I have had acne for about 3 years now... At first it wasnt too bad but then it was getting worse and now I have scars. Will going to the dermatologist help my acne and make it go away? And do they prescribe pills, or face medication? And the will whatever they give me help get rid of my scars too?

Tommorow i have got my first dermatologist appointment and i dont know what to expect. Will he just prescribe me treatments just like my doctor did and make me get prescriptions from the pharmacy or am i going to have laser treatments etc.? I am 16 and have moderate acne which is slowly getting worse! i have tried a lot of prescriptions given by doctor such as benzoyl peroxide, antibiotic etc. I am really hoping that going to a dermatologist will finally get rid of my acne!
